hello. The following are samples of products and projects I've worked on. The majority of my experience is in digital media: content, social media, interactive media and ecommerce. The web moves fast, several of the live links below may not match the screenshot due to continued site innovation for each product.

For each project the following process methodology is applied:
Research and Discovery
Web analysis, user research, interviews, business objectives, and feasibility. 
Plan
Identify user goals and business objectives, product vision, roadmap, lightweight brief
Create 
Explore workflows, information architecture, interactive design, prototypes, and gather user feedback 
Build 
front end, back end, IT infrastructure, 3rd party systems, and QA
Release 
Provide launch management and continued QA
Manage, iterate and innovate

Direct the product development for a portfolio of six fashion and beauty brands (Glamour, Self, Allure, Lucky, Teenvogue and W Magazine). I manage the design and development for site redesigns, site refreshes and discreet product development.

The Stimulist
A new news site

Role: Director of Product Management and User Experience
The Stimulist: closed

Directed the product development and design for this new news site founded by news anchor Carlos Warson. The Stimulist is a daily brief for the (curious) optimist. I worked closely with Carlos and his editorial team to define and shape his product idea. I created a development and design team to take it from conception to release in 5 months.

Worked with executive team to identify key business and product requirements for relaunching online brand. Directed and coordinated user research with marketing and research teams for data analysis to understand audience patterns to increase brand awareness and identify product growth opportunities. Created personas to begin design process with internal and external teams. The four users were identified as:

  • The Magazine reader
  • The Influencers
  • The Participant and Explorer
  • The Tools and Organizer person
The feature sets and functionality were influenced by, defined and built for these personas.

Yahoo! Finance, Personal Finance
Role: Director of Product Management and User Experience
Yahoo! Personal Finance website launch

Developed the content strategy for the personal finance site, selected the premium content providers and coordinated contracts, directed the design and user experience for the entire site, shaped and participated in the usability studies and focus groups, and worked closely with the engineering team to assess necessary CMS updates and additions. I worked with the management team to develop strategies and prioritize new development projects to create a world-class internet site by integrating rich content, social media and strong interactive functionality. Project released in 2007.

This is the last project I worked on for Slate Magazine. I oversaw the magazine redesign executed by Helicopter design. This redesign addressed increased advertising opportunities, partnerships, improving user engagement, increasing time spent on site, and eliminating content dead ends across the site.
